Recreational Equipment, Inc. (REI) is the nation's premier specialty outdoor retailer, dedicated to inspiring, educating, and outfitting adventurers for a lifetime of outdoor experiences. Whether you are prepping for a multi-day backcountry trek, tuning up your gravel bike, upgrading your winter ski apparel, or pitching your first campsite, REI offers high-performance gear from industry-leading brands such as Patagonia, The North Face, Arc'teryx, HOKA, Osprey, and its renowned in-house REI Co-op label. Because top-quality outdoor technical gear represents a significant investment, finding valid REI promo codes, seasonal discounts, and member perks is essential for stretching your gear budget.
The cornerstone of shopping smartly at REI is the lifetime REI Co-op membership. For a one-time nominal fee, members unlock a suite of ongoing financial benefits. Chief among them is the annual Co-op Member Reward, which typically returns 10% back on eligible full-price purchases made throughout the year. Beyond the annual dividend, REI regularly distributes exclusive member-only coupons—most notably the celebrated 20% off one full-price item and an extra 20% off one REI Outlet item promotion. Members also enjoy free standard shipping with no minimum purchase requirement, access to member-exclusive product drops, discounts on gear rentals, and reduced rates for bike and ski shop services.
Savvy shoppers know that the deepest discounts on rei.com are often found outside the standard catalog pages. The REI Outlet section features closeout gear, past-season colorways, and overstocked inventory from top outdoor brands with markdowns ranging from 20% to 50% or more every day. In addition, REI's Re/Supply (formerly Used Gear) program lets you buy inspected, pre-owned outdoor gear and apparel at a fraction of the original retail price, while also allowing members to trade in their gently used gear in exchange for REI gift cards.
REI is famous for its marquee promotional periods that occur throughout the year. Signature sales—such as the massive Anniversary Sale, the Labor Day Clearance, and the Gear Up Get Out promotion—feature widespread sitewide markdowns across popular categories including tents, sleeping bags, hiking boots, rainwear, GPS smartwatches, and car racks from Yakima and Thule. Combining these scheduled markdown events with category-specific rebates and free store pickup delivers exceptional value for both beginner campers and seasoned mountaineers.
Outdoor gear exclusions can make coupon hunting frustrating, as certain technical brands or GPS electronics are often restricted by manufacturer pricing policies. Our dedicated editorial team manually tests each REI coupon code against real shopping carts on rei.com every day. We verify active promotional codes, track price reductions on clearance items, and highlight special shipping deals so you can be confident that every coupon listed on this page works as advertised.
Enter your coupon code in the 'Coupon Code' box located on the checkout payment page and click 'Apply'. Your order total will immediately update to reflect the promotional discount before you place the order.
No, REI allows only one coupon or promotional code per order. However, you can combine a single coupon code with automatic sitewide sales, clearance pricing, and REI gift cards or Co-op Member Rewards at checkout.
Our REI coupons and deals are updated daily by our verification team. Major promotional codes and member coupons arrive during REI's signature sales events, while Outlet markdowns and clearance price drops are added weekly.
Check the promotional fine print for brand exclusions, minimum order thresholds, or expiration dates. Certain premium brands, GPS units, electronics, bikes, and boats are frequently excluded from standard percentage-off coupons, and some codes require an active REI Co-op membership.
REI Co-op Member coupons allow active members to take 20% off one eligible full-price item and an extra 20% off one REI Outlet item during select promotional windows. You must log into your active member account or enter your member number at checkout for the code to validate.
Yes, REI Co-op Members receive free standard shipping on all orders with no minimum purchase requirement. Non-members receive free standard shipping on orders of $50 or more, or can choose free ship-to-store pickup at any local REI retail location.
